Total BEV sales across all analyzed markets increased by 35% in Q3 2025 compared to the same period last year. For the first time on record, more than one in five (21%) vehicles sold globally were BEVs.

China, which accounts for nearly two-thirds of global BEV sales, mirrored the global trend. Europe’s BEV market also saw a sharp increase, with sales in the top five European markets combined growing by 32% in Q3 2025 compared to Q3 2024. The US BEV market grew by 22% year-on-year in the third quarter, driven by consumers seeking to take advantage of the available tax credit before it expired at the end of September.
