While sales of the top automotive suppliers increased by 20% last year, margins are still a long way from previous successes. A regional comparison revealed critical developments for German suppliers, reflected in lower growth and a loss of their global market share of almost 3 percentage points since 2019. Asian suppliers, on the other hand, made significant gains in the competition for size and economies of scale in the course of the transformation of the automotive sector.
